Abstract: Health and fitness wearable technology has recently advanced, which makes it easier for a person to monitor their behaviors. Previously self produced data interacts with an individual to inspire positive behavior change, but issues arise when relating this to long-term mention of wearable devices. Previous studies within this area are discussed. We also look at a new approach where data is utilized to support rather than motivate, through monitoring and logging to encourage reflection. Predicated on issues highlighted, we then make suggestions on the path where future work could be most appropriate.
